The classes by Rachel Coopey

Choose your own Sockventure!

This workshop is 4hrs class

In this workshop we will knit a sock using all those scraps and leftovers sock knitters
accumulate. Different stitch patterns, stripes and techniques will be used to make unique socks. We will discuss and decide on different heel and cuff options. Bring small amounts of different sock yarns and 2.25/2.5mm needles for your preferred method of working in the round – (dpns or circ for magic loop – I will cover magic loop if needed so if you want to try this technique, this is the perfect time!).
To complete this workshop you must be able to knit confidently in the round and will have knitted a basic sock before.

Inspired Socks

This workshop is 4hrs class

Bring a piece of inspiration, a photo, a texture or a stitch pattern from a stitch dictionary and we will work together to create a sock pattern using this as a starting point. In this workshop, participants will learn about how a sock design comes together, the challenges designing a sock presents and how to overcome them. You will need a skein or skeins of sock yarn and the appropriate needles for sock knitting – you should know what gauge the sock yarn knits at (ideally a standard sock yarn will be knitted at 9st per inch).
To complete this workshop you must be able to knit confidently in the round and will have knitted a basic sock before.
