Liinu Kekäläinen does a lot. She owns yarn store which name could be translated “Handcraft club Pom Pom”, she is a passionate knitter and crafting is her lifestyle. Liinu also dyes Pom Pom’s own yarns and makes earrings and necklaces. Liinu has fallen in love with miniature woollen rugs, ryas, and she will be teaching how to make one at the festival.
Ryijyhurahdus / taken by the rya
In this class you get to make your own necklace that is just like a little rya, which is a traditional woollen rug. While making your rya you learn how to weave using a special kind of weaving-frame. This workshop is also suitable for children from the age of 7 and up.
All the materials needed for the rye are included in the prize of the class. You can buy the weaving-frame for 9€.
